Opened Arizona campus in 1977

Ottawa University was founded in 1865 by two American Baptist missionaries who brought education and medicine to the Ottawa Indian Tribe on the plains of Kansas. Over one hundred years later, in 1977, Ottawa University Arizona was founded to offer degree completion to working adults. Ottawa University now serves over 4,000 undergraduate, graduate, teacher certification and professional education students in the Valley of the Sun offering classes in Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, and the West Valley. Ottawa students typically are between 24 and 44 in age. Each student works with a full time faculty member to develop his/her own degree plan. Students enroll in a variety of undergraduate programs, e.g. business, education, psychology, human services, healthcare management, information technology, public administration, individualized majors. Graduate students can choose MA degrees in Professional Counseling, Education, and Business Administration and Human Resources. Serving students well with personalized attention in a quality educational environment describes the mission of Ottawa University Arizona.
